Beef & Black Bean Sauce



Black Beans, otherwise known as douchi, do not sound particularly impressive from either names, but these beans will provide you with one of China’s most distinctive flavours. These beans are made by fermenting and salting black soybeans, giving them intense flavour which shines throughout the sauce.  

A bit savoury, a bit of umami and a bit salty, this dish is a classic of Chinese home cooking and you will struggle to find these sorts of flavours anywhere else.
